I had a whole thing planned for today but...
after a two-hour-long homework battle with a child who will not be named (second son), I don't have the energy or brain power. (Or will to live.)

I hate hate hate kid homework. I want to send all teachers the following memo, "Dear teacher, guess what? I've already graduated elementary school, middle school, high school AND college. Please don't make me do homework. "
Don't even get me started on the teachers who want ME to write an essay about my child so they can get to know them better. Give me a break.
