HEAT WAVE!

It's so hot here, I can't even think up a clever title for this post.
It's so hot and HUMID here that my head feels like it's going to implode from the pressure.
It's so hot that cooking AND cleaning are just plain out of the question
It's so hot here that yesterday when the boys WANTED to go outside to play in the yard, I WOULDN'T LET them.  (95 degrees with 75-100% humidity)

It's so hot here that they CANCELLED SCHOOL today!

(But I didn't know that.)
(Until after I got back from dropping-off Max.)
(I thought we had just missed the bus.)
(Doug had to go back and pick him up.)
(I wasn't leaving the house in my robe and flip-flops AGAIN!)
(No.  I don't have any shame or self-respect.)
(I dyed my own hair, didn't I?)

In other news, FAEZER arrived last night with her new husband John.  (That's my mom, for those of you who are new to the blog.)  I think at the moment they're napping in self-defense against the heat.

I think I'll do the same.
(Take a nap, that is.)

Did I mention that it's so hot?

P.S.  Contest winners announced soon...when my head isn't about to implode.
P.P.S.  Yes.  My hair is still a strange shade of yellow/orange/brass.

Someone was complaining about how COOL Utah has been lately and I thought of how HOT it is back East.

I prefer the cool.

But it can't last forever. Neither can the heat wave.

Sorry about the heat. Even more sorry about the humitiy. That's why I like living in the desert. Nice and dry...

I hope you survive!! Yea that Fae is there! (You know, I have never actually met her, but I feel like I know her well enough to ask you to say HI for me!!)

It is HOT here in Indiana too! But we have also had many of thunderstorms and flooding around the area. But the HUMIDITY is to die for! You will survive.

Seriously, they cancel school for 3 inches of snow and then for hot weather. What wimps!

I thought we missed the bus here too, fortunately this time we figured it out before I took them to school. I drove them in to an empty school at least twice this past winter. I love trying to explain to my kids how I seem to be the only Mom who doesn't know what's going on.

I won't tell you what the weather in San Diego is like today because you already know it's perfect. Just dream about the day when you get to live her again Emmy!

Your losing it Em. The heat is clearly getting to your brain, or maybe it's the dye seeping through the pores in your head. (-;

I know how you feel! Obviously, we had the same heat here too. Our school wasn't completely cancelled here, but they released early. I was thinking it was rather wimpy that they got released from school for the heat too, but then I realized that they don't have air conditioning in the school. Not a good environment to work.

Weird, but true - I love humidity. I mean I don't love it when it's 90 degrees outside, but when it's a bit cooler I enjoy it. Plus I've noticed ladies here don't have as many wrinkles. I think that has something to do with the fact that they don't get all dried out and wrinkly like they do out west. Just a theory, but I think I'm right. :-)

Emily,
What the crud?
It was freezing here today. I wore a jacket, and it snowing at my Dad's house in Montana.

Seriously, you can click on the link I have to his blog and there is a picture!
